Last week I blogged on Bald Eagles at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. On that same trip, I captured a GBH catching a fish. Timing is everything as they say! After several passes by car through the Refuge, DK and I spotted this Heron . We saw the entire process, but here are the highlights.
Also included are other GBH that we photographed that day. Let me know what birds or other creatures are close to your home. I enjoy seeing wildlife in their own habitat.
Thanks always for your comments and support!
How lucky are you having all these birds close enough to photograph. Thanks for sharing.

Great shots! I especially love the fall colors as the backdrop. We also have Herons in the shallows along the river at our summer getaway, although, I don’t believe they’re the Great Blues.
FYI, I picked up a Cann SX60 and I LOVE it! Versatility and amazing imagery. Happy shooting!
