In the Dead of Winter, Let’s Enjoy the Flowers

Hanging Beauty

Even  to me, the title of the post sounds so deep. Not really.

Here in Maryland it is smack dab in the middle of winter but luckily we have short winters compared to my home state of Illinois and to my previous home of Minnesota.

Enjoy these flowers which I took at the US Botanical Garden in DC while my mom was visiting over Thanksgiving. This oasis is open 365 days of the year-yes, every day! And in the winter it feels just like the Southern Hemisphere.

I loved opening my email this morning and seeing such vibrant colors. I look outside and see endless shades of white and gray…..white for the almost 2 ft of snow in my yard and the gray, foggy sky blocking my view of the nearby hillside. Hanging Beauty is a beautiful pop of color and Intimate Details II is amazing in its intricacy.
Thanks for your blogs throughout the year as well as sharing your fabulous photography.
