Solitary Boat

During the last days of 2015,  the weather was pure summer-like. I mean temps in the 70s! On one such Sunday, I walked around Columbia’s own Centennial Lake. It is a three mile trip, and I usually do not walk it by myself for safety reasons. I figured that many people would be out, and I was correct.

There were people walking their dogs, jogging, biking and just strolling about, enjoying a warm December Sunday afternoon in Maryland.

There are days I love to photograph with buddies and other days where being alone gets me to think outside the box when composing. During this outing, I was focused on creating different perspectives.

I shot some wildlife, but mostly shot three or four scenes from different angles and points of views.

My own private photography lesson!

Personally I am pleased with the results. Let me know what you think.

Great lesson, Kathi. It’s like a writer looking at a scene from different points of view. Each one tells a different story. My favorite, Winter Walk 1. It made me think of the yellow brick road in the Wizzard of Oz. 🙂

I’m glad you got to go for said walk Kathi and especially greatfull we all get to see the results of your labour of love. The colour photo and the black and white look like they should have been taken of different days. One reminds me of summer, the other winter.

Beautiful images, Kathi – I love the different perspectives and points of view. It’s a shame you have to worry about walking alone around Centennial Lake. I don’t know Columbia well, but I’ll remember that if I ever venture there to do some shooting.
