More Than Just a Pretty Palm Tree

Rows of Palms

Rows of Palms

Today is the first day that I am posting at 6 pm EST US. Word Press tells me that my best viewing hour is 7 PM EST so I am trying to maximize my viewership. It also tells me that Sunday is my best viewing day. Oh, well., I don’t follow all the rules. But I digress… ALOT.

This past winter when I visited my mom in south Florida, we took a short excursion on a boat. I found a Groupon, and it seemed like a good price. Not that we haven’t been on almost every tourist boat in the Miami Harbor. I thought this one would be different, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was. Instead of seeing all of the rich celebrity homes on the water that I could only dream of living in, we saw another side of Miami-the port and the industry that fuels Miami.

When we got off the boat, we both commented on how unusual the tour was. It took my mom, who is almost a “native tourist” with her treks with friends and family alike, to areas of the harbor and Biscayne Bay she had never seen before. It gave me a new photo op.

I have no idea whether these photos appeal to anyone other than MAERSK-one of the biggest shipping lines in the world. Hey, if they bought the rights to a photo, I wouldn’t be sad.

Personally I like the lines, shapes, perspective and depth. They make the photos interesting to me. What do you think?

Thanks for supporting my work and enjoy these unusual sights of Miami.

Looks like a busy port Kathi, I like the last photo. This time works well for me as it is Sunday afternoon here and no one else’s blog came at the same time so I was able to enjoy yours without stress.

Love, love these shots. Yes they appeal. I’m a retired sailor and anything with sea and ships lights my taper!
    Lovely shots.
